Lashonda Council Rogers is the founder and owner of Council & Associates, LLC, one of the fastest-growing law firms in the United States. Rogers is a passionate trial lawyer who is dedicated to representing individuals who have suffered serious injuries due to tractor-trailer accidents, automobile accidents, premises liability, and daycare center abuse. Rogers has recovered millions of dollars for deserving families in Georgia and South Carolina. Notably, she helped secure over $29 million for a client who was paralyzed due to the negligence of a well-known Fortune 500 company.

Rogers has been recognized by her peers, earning titles such as Super Lawyer and one of the Top 10 Georgia Trucking Lawyers from The National Trial Lawyers. She was also selected as one of Attorney at Law Magazine’s “Attorneys to Watch.” Her accomplishments have been featured in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and on various television and radio news outlets throughout the United States. Further, Rogers’ accomplishments have been highlighted in Career Magazine and People You Need to Know Magazine. In addition, she has been honored with the Walker’s Legacy Power Award for her business and civic leadership within Atlanta.

Active in both the legal and civic communities, Rogers serves on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys Foundation. She is also a member of the Atlanta Bar Association, Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, Gate City Bar Association, and the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers. Nationally, she is part of the National Black Lawyers Top 100 executive committee and serves as the Co-Chair of Communications for the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys. Additionally, Rogers is a member of the American Association for Justice and the National Bar Association and has been a devoted member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. since 1997.

To address the needs of her community directly, Rogers established the Council Cares Community Campaign (“Council Cares”). This initiative aims to support organizations committed to helping others. To date, Council Cares has hosted several breast cancer awareness events, school supply drives, and senior citizen activities in the Atlanta area.

A native of Sumter, South Carolina, Rogers earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in Economics from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. She obtained her Juris Doctorate from Howard University School of Law in Washington, D.C., and is licensed to practice law in Georgia and South Carolina.

The Experience

Benefitting from her experiences serving both large and small corporate clients, Rogers developed an approach to serving clients that is personal and accessible for those who are making tough decisions for themselves or on behalf of their family members. She is recognized for her committed advocacy and her unique ability to understand the individual needs of her clients. Former clients and fellow attorneys often refer legal cases to Rogers based on the fact that she achieves stellar results on behalf of her clients.

Rogers is very active in the legal and civic communities both locally and nationally. Locally, she is a member of the Atlanta Bar Association, the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, and serves on the executive board of the Gate City Bar Association. Nationally, Rogers is a member of the American Bar Association and the National Association of Bond Lawyers.

The Honors

Rogers has been honored by her peers by being named a Super Lawyers Rising Star and one of the Nation’s Best Advocates: 40 Lawyers Under 40 by the National Bar Association and IMPACT. Rogers is often featured in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and on various television news outlets. In addition, Rogers serves as a legal correspondent for the Toni and Griff morning radio show in Atlanta, Georgia. Rogers accomplishments have also been highlighted in Career Magazine and People You Need to Know Magazine.

Rogers earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in Economics from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. Rogers went on to obtain her Juris Doctorate from Howard University School of Law in Washington, D.C.
